Eyekiller, is celebrating having won a top award at this year’s Eircom Golden Spider Web Awards in Dublin. The prestigious industry awards attracted an audience of 600 representatives from the online community to the Burlington Hotel where the brightest stars in the web world where celebrated. Eyekiller fought off hot competition from some of the leading web design companies in Ireland to win Best Travel and Tourism Website for Craigavon Borough Council’s tourism initiative www.discovercraigavon.com
“As Ireland’s premier awards for the online industry, the competition was understandably of a high calibre so we are absolutely delighted with our Golden Spider,” says Eyekiller Director, Jamie Robinson. “We are very proud of our winning design for www.discovercraigavon.com which is an excellent online showcase for the region. The site entices and inspires visitors from near and far to find out more and plan a visit to the area, it is fresh, dynamic, easy to use and incorporates exciting new web technologies that keep the user coming back for more.”
The judging panel commented on the fact that the website provided the user with an informative, enjoyable and captivating journey through what the region has to offer. They were impressed by the marriage of logical navigation with strong pictorial and video elements, the online events calendar, mapping tool and ecard idea.
“The creation of the “Discover Craigavon” brand by Craigavon Borough Council aims to promote and build a better awareness both in Northern Ireland and further afield of the wealth of tourism and leisure opportunities throughout the region.” Explains Chair of the Development Committee at Craigavon Borough Council, Alderman Sydney Anderson. “Eyekiller have been successful in creating an exciting online presence for the region and we are delighted with the results.”
