Eyekiller, unveils new website for blues guitar icon, Chris Rea.
With 30 years experience under his belt, Rea is a master at keeping up with the times, not only with his music but also with his marketing. Like many top celebrities, Rea has recently turned his attention to his online marketing for this latest stage in his career and enlisted the expertise of Northern Ireland based web solutions specialists, Eyekiller to develop and implement his online strategy.
“We were approached by Chris Rea's management company in London to create an online presence for the star. Eyekiller came up with a web strategy that maximises the opportunities that new social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook, Digg and YouTube offer.” explains Jamie Robinson, Creative Director at eyekiller.com.
Developing the social networking elements to the website was central to our strategy, micro blogging site Twitter has become a key element to the new online presence and like many celebrities Chris Rea is now interacting and developing his relationship with his fans via regular Tweets. Interaction with fans is enhanced further by technology that enables visitors to interact and leave message, organise meet-ups and possibly request songs
www.chrisrea.com also incorporates an online music player were fans can listen and purchase Rea's greatest hits. The site content is managed by Chris Rea's team using Eyekiller's own content management system, Killer Content which helps ensure that the site content is refreshed and up-dated daily in house in particular the media section which will be up-dated regularly with video footage and photos from the tour.
“It's obviously been a unique opportunity for a Eyekiller to get involved with a major talent like Chris Rea and as music fans ourselves we have all been extremely enthusiastic about the project. It goes to show just how location and size are becoming less important factors to winning international business opportunities in the web design business. It's exciting to think that our Bangor based business is competing and winning prestigious new projects ahead of major international web design agencies. We are now looking forward to heading to see the man himself when he wraps up the tour in Belfast in April! ” Says Jamie.
